A very good used 1872 Newcastle-on-Tyne cover franked with a 1d Red from plate 161 lettered MB and a 4d Vermilion from plate 12 lettered JH cancelled by a fine duplex ‘NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE/M/DE13/72/545’. Sent to Sweden. Red ‘PD’ and red ‘2 1/2d’. Backstamped with a Swedish receiver ’17/12/1872′. No contents. The 1d Red has a crease across it. the 4d is fine.
