A superb used 1871 Valentine card – full description below.

A superb used 1871 Valentine Card sent from Curragh Camp (military training ground in County Kildare) to Rye. Sussex. Exquisitely handmade. the card is in superb condition and the envelope intact. although torn where it was opened perhaps hastily. The handwritten message inside reads: "Oh may your path be smooth. what ere your lot may be and after life’s carrier is ore. may you still happy be." The envelope is franked with a 1d Red and cancelled by a CURRAGH CAMP duplex dated 12/2/1871. Back-stamped with a RYE receiver dated 14/2/1871.
