Description
A fine and rare used original 1840 Mulready Caricature, being the No 5 ‘By Post’ design by William Spooner, sent Chatham to Gosport 17th May 1841, with m/s ‘1’ and London tombstone transit. A very fine example of this rare design with just fifteen used recorded. Ex. ‘Illustrious’ and ‘Bohn’ and one of the finest examples extant.
